Carrier Release Policy

Appointment Releases

Updated over 11 months ago
  • While employed at SelectQuote, an associate's appointments will remain under the organization's hierarchy. If an associate leaves the organization and wishes to sell for another agency, they may submit a request to have their appointments released. Releases can be granted in the form of an immediate or delayed release.

  • In order to obtain an immediate release, the former associate must provide a completed Reciprocal Release Request. The Reciprocal Release Request can be obtained by clicking the link below to download the form:

  • Once a Reciprocal Release Request is provided, the request will be reviewed for completeness and eligibility. If approved, SelectQuote will provide a countersigned agreement and proceed with the release. If the Reciprocal Release Agreement is incomplete, or it is determined that the former associate is ineligible for an immediate release, communication will be sent to the individual notifying them of the decision.

  • Please note, releases will not be granted to any individual who is a currently active employee at SelectQuote or to an associate moving to sell for a direct competitor.

  • An associate may obtain a delayed release at any time by submitting a request to the carriers directly.

  • For additional information and further instructions on how to download and complete the agreement, please refer to the Reciprocal Release Instructions article found on this website.
